5 Secrets to a Perfect Car Wrap

A car wrap is something that’s supposed to be on your car for years. This is why it is important that you take your time doing your research. So that you don’t end up with something that you will later regret in days/months/years. Here are a few tips that you need to follow for a great car wrap.

1. Choose a material that offers Protection:

No matter what kind of wrap you get, it will offer some level of protection due to the fact that it’s a layer that goes on top of your vehicle. If you choose a full car wrap, the protection will cover the whole vehicle, if you choose decals or a partial wrap the protection will only be where the vinyl is laid down. This does raise one issue; Ghosting. This is when you remove the decals or Partial wrap, the paint is in better condition than the rest of the vehicle.

2. Figure out your purpose:

Before you go and place an order, it should be clear to you whether the car wrap is supposed to be commercial or personal. If it is a promotional wrap, then make sure the design idea you have focuses on that. Put yourself in the shoes of your target customer. And if it is a personal wrap, then look for inspiration online and on-road while driving.

3. Spend time on your design:

The design is one of the most important phases of a car wrap; especially for you (the client). The wrap company will print anything you want. Since you’ll be stuck with the design for several years, make sure you take your time refining it till you are satisfied with what you see. We suggest printing out the proof and looking at it every day for a week to ensure you are extremely happy with the design.

4. Pick premium quality material:

When it comes to car wraps, you get what you pay for. If you’re looking for something durable and visually appealing then it goes without saying that you should go with the premium quality material. Avery Dennison & 3M offers the best quality material on the market. Additionally, you get to choose from their wide spectrum of colours and finishes such as satin, gloss, matte, etc.

5. Choose a good laminate:

Using premium quality vinyl for a car wrap would be for nothing if you choose to go with a laminate that’s considered to be low quality. Make sure to pick the matching laminate material that does not shift colour over time, and resists bubbles and external environmental factors.

#Bonus Tip:

When you’ve got your car wrapped, ask the wrap company for instructions on how to take care of the wrap. It doesn’t require much but there are certain things you can do to maintain your car wrap to add a bit of extra time to its lifetime.
