The perfect car wrap doesn’t exis…

It sure does if you get it done by Vinyl Wrap Toronto. In this article, we’re going to explain the process we follow to deliver a perfect car wrap or vehicle wrap to our clients.

Vehicle wrapping isn’t a child’s game, it’s something that requires years of practice and an understanding of a car’s body. Someone who can pay attention to every curve on a car’s body. That involves both installers and designers.

Here’s what we do when we receive an order for a car wrap:

1. Design:

Designing a car wrap isn’t as simple as designing a flyer where you can simply add your logo and text and it’s done. Cars aren’t flat like paper or banners. To be able to design a wrap for a car, the designer has to have experience and familiarity with the various curves on the car’s surface.

Apart from that, the designer must use the latest car outline and make sure the design will lay on the vehicle perfectly without being distorted or sliced into pieces. Imagine floating heads or missing graphics. Not considering every area and curve on the car’s body will result in a car wrap that looks different than what’s in the design template; and not in a good way. Showing a customer a design and not being able to reproduce it is not our thing. We have a team of graphic designers who are passionate about vehicle graphics and are capable of producing any kind of car wrap design as long as you can communicate your requirements with us.

2. Material:

The second most important thing is to decide which material to go with. After all, the material plays an important role in the quality and longevity of the wrap. We understand that. This is why we only use the best quality material offered by 3M & Avery Dennison for all our car wrap jobs. Both of these brands have a wide range of finishes and colours to choose from. We have tried other types of vehicle vinyl on the market, and prefer to work with these two.

3. Production:

Once our client approves the car wrap design and decides which material to go with, the next step in our process is to start production. This is where we actually print the design on the chosen vinyl material using our wide format industry standard printing equipment. Wide-format printing is not as simple as printing paper at home on your HP or Canon printer. What we do is a lot more complex. In order to print accurate colour and positioning, the machine has to be configured properly. Experts at Vinyl Wrap Toronto have been dealing with wide-format printing for almost a decade now.

4. Preparation:

The next step we take when we have the perfect design, material and print is to prepare the vehicle for installation. It is one of the most time-consuming processes in the car wrap job. We ask our clients to make sure the vehicle goes through a basic car washed before they drop it off at our garage. When the client drops off their car, our installers have to make sure that there is absolutely no dirt and wax on the car’s surface.

Because if there is dirt on the surface, it will get in the way of the vinyl’s adhesive sticking to the surface of the car and may result in unwanted air bubbles or cause the vinyl to lift off the surface. To make sure that does not happen, our installers clean every surface on the vehicle while they install the vinyl. Each installer has their own method and cleaning solutions in preparing the vehicle.

5. Facility:

After we have everything ready to wrap the car, the next thing is to make sure our facility is clean and spacious. We make sure that our garage is dust-free, has the right temperature, etc. Because having a facility with dust particles in the air will defeat the whole purpose of cleaning the car.

6. Installation:

This is where the real magic happens. Our installers take the printed material and start wrapping your car. This is the most important phase. The client couldn’t care less if the design or print is perfect, what the client wants is a perfect car wrap. Our installers are aware of how different materials behave and how to lay them down perfectly on the surface of a vehicle.

Apart from installation, our installers make sure all the excess material is properly cut out without causing a single scratch to your car. It requires a steady hand and a lot of concentration. Our installers have been working in the industry for years and know what they’re doing. So, you can rest assured, your car wrap will turn out to be exactly how you saw it on the design file.
